RWOTD {Confusing}
At the office I work at on Monday mornings, the lady always leaves her already-read magazines for me.
I picked up the People magazine and this is what I saw on the front cover:
I studied the picture a little longer and honed in especially on the faces of the biological children of the Jolie-Pitt clan. (Anyone know why it is not the “Pitt-Jolie” clan? Just wondering.)
And yes, it is confusing to me.
You look at these faces
and you just have to wonder…
How did these people
make cuter kids than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie??
And I don’t think I’m being biased.
I mean, look at them…

I mean, I’m starting to think that all of the good looks in the Jolie-Pitt children are coming through in the adopted kids.
Shiloh is 4 years old and looks almost completely like a boy. She even dresses like a boy. (Check out the striped brown and tan shirt and the tan pants.)
And where, oh where, exactly is Angelina picking up these kids clothes? Is she sending the nanny to the nearest Salvation Army with $20 and the wrong size information? Look at poor little Knox.
He is wearing a sport coat and matching pants (even that in itself is somewhat disturbing) that look like they are for a kid who is about a size 4 when poor little Knox is only a size 2 or 3.
Little Viv fared a little better, but she is still looking less than stellar, in my opinion.
It reminds me of this one family that we knew when we were teenagers.
They had some sons in their family that were mighty f.i.n.e.
The parents were quite plain looking. Maybe even homely.
Yet somehow, they turned out these boys who were quite handsome.
This led to a number of discussions among my siblings and I about how often you see that happen…Very good-looking parents…not so cute kids.
Homely parents…stunning kids.
I think this dynamic is presenting itself in the case of the Pitt-Jolie children. You would think “Oh.my.word!” Two of the most beautiful people in the world (Ok, I have my own opinions about Angelina’s looks, but many men would argue that she is one of the most beautiful people in the world) making babies!! How cu-ute will they be?! Sku-weeel!
Turns out…not that terribly cute.
They certainly aren’t going to be winning any “cutest kid” contests.
Not if I am the judge.
Maybe they will “come into their own” later in life and I will have to eat major crow.
Maybe they will just be such awesome actors that no one will really care how they look.
Maybe Shiloh will eventually decide to start dressing like a girl.
But in the meantime, I’m putting my money on Suri Cruise.
(Disclaimer: I am aware that this post is very shallow and that looks are not everything. At all.
I also am aware that I “love to hate” Angelina Jolie and that I am just a little happy that her kids are not so cute.
But I still think I’m right!)

I am a team Angie girl…….sooooooo…..I’ll just leave it at that! HAHA! BUT YES….Your kids are as cute as hers…. ; ) But I think ALLLLL children are beautiful.

If you are referring to yourself as homely, then stop already!! Not true! But I have to say that I think the Jolie-Pitt kids are cute! Maybe that’s just not the best pics of them. For example, a good pic where they’re smiling would improve their looks by a lot! Maybe this was one of those busy mornings where they let the kids dress themselves — who knows?

Lol…fun read of the day. I have never been caught up in the whole pity jolie fame..feel sorry for the kids at times, not sure why…also I remember having the same conversation about the beautiful, homely people.All I can come up with is two negatives make a positive and vice versa…and this us NOT referring to you …Lol!

Not to talk about oneself, but look what Daryl and I created And I don’t think I’m biased either. I certainly don’t think Daryl and I are exactly Barbie and Ken. But our gene pool? @bling4all - I know that comment about them dressing themselves wasn’t very accurate, because they knew paparazzi would be flocking around them. I do stick to my opinion that if Shiloh would have a smile, she’d be much cuter in the pic. But yeah, she almost looks mad. These kids have to feel the turmoil in their lives…so that’s probably why they’re never smiling & are known to be wild children??
i’m actually pretty much pro shiloh and anti suri..in the sense that it seems that one is being let to express herself however she wants and the other is being raised as a little princess. i have nothing about little girls dressing like princesses…but really, i have read so many things on her every whim that is catered too where shiloh is pretty much ‘lost in the crowd’ and yet not really…since it seems that while they are each sometimes parented by their own parents…they are raised by nannies..who are we kidding. i’m pro them being able to express themselves, although i do share some of your horror at knox being dressed in too big clothes. while i’m not totally 100% on the manner in which they have built their family, and while they are celebrities and therefore have a TONNE of money and the kids have non normal kid experiences i’m sure…i’m fond of the idea that they are seeming to be more down to earth then suri. but that’s just my opinion.however when it comes your point about making beautiful kids…you definately got that down
your kids are wayy cuter…however homely parents you are NOT! but i have seen some parents that i’m like whoa..did you guys adopt cause that doesn’t seem to work that your genetics turned out THAT or those people.

I think sometimes we forget that people like Brad and Angelina might get their good looks from plastic surgery and photo editing. :) And we all know that process does not affect their gene pool at all . So their kids will look like the “real” Jolie and Pitt. :) Ha-Ha!!

I go for a different style of kids clothing than what’s normal but I agreed with your verdict. You should submit this post to lovelyish! Seriously! It’s more thought out than most of the posts that make it to xanga’s front page and I’m always reading stuff about celebrities. I had a free subscription to People for FOUR WHOLE MONTHS and I loved it.

I have often thought of it how WIERD it is that some of the most goodlooking parents have kids that are, um, downright, well, not so cute?! I am glad to know I’m not the only one that has thought about that!And this tells how much I know about celebrity’s kids, but I thought Shiloh WAS a boy! By all looks, a person could never tell!FUNNY post.

I’m sure the Jolie-Pitt children will be beautiful once they’re older b/c being beautiful has little to do with looks and more to do with confidence and commitment. In Hollywood, if you are confident in who you are and committed to doing whatever it takes, you WILL be successful. These kids are being raised with those values, no doubt; and clothes, make-up, and hairstyle can fill in any external deficiency there is.
I’m in the “love to hate Angelina” crowd! Oh yeah! Besides, AnyONE that skinny is just not on my team!

funny you mention this..My friend and I have come up with the conclusion that you have to have one bad looking parent to make cute kids. But in my case…not sure who was the bad looking parent :/ People have always thought my dad looked like Robert Redford-in fact one time at a hardware store the clerk totally didn’t believe that he wasn’t-and my mom isn’t too bad looking either.
